No. 22 - Bulldawg Illustrated XXII: UGA vs. Kentucky, 11/19/11
Let’s Smoke Georgia Tech!
At this rate, I’ll have some tobacco-related cancer from all these victory cigars—and I hope to keep it going.
I’m confident Georgia Tech will ensure I fire one up Saturday afternoon. In fact, I already bought a Macanudo Robusto to celebrate. This stogie is quite a step up from my usual brand (ninety-nine-cent gas station tongue burners). I figure I might as well go out with a bang, as Vegas and every other odds-maker is sure this will be the last win in this historic run.
Two more cigars would be awesome. Of course, that would require the aforementioned win plus an upset over the SEC West in Atlanta.
And dare I say it… a third cigar would mean we beat Tech, won the SEC Championship, and probably left the Superdome littered with sugar packets and Bourbon Street with twentysomethings chanting,
“Ain’t nothin’ finer in the land,
than a drunken Georgia football fan.”
Hey, don’t be so pessimistic—it could happen. We managed to get into the SEC Championship game, didn’t we?
Either way, our Dawgs deserve a round of applause. Going from 0–2 to winning the East is quite an accomplishment.
So here’s to Coach Richt keeping his job, Coach Grantham staying put for a few more seasons, and smoking more victory cigars!
P.S. Thanks for 42 great years, Larry.

Instead, he ends up watching the game at home in a red-and-black bow tie, bourbon in one hand and cigar in the other—joined by his wife, an Auburn grad, and their 3-year-old daughter and 3-month-old son, both caught in the middle of mom and dad’s football loyalties.
